CommentsI took the short way up to hi point of Hardy Ridge yesterday. Russ Jolley used to lead a hike up there using the same route and he called it Phlox Point hike. I can see why, because the Phlox display right now is spectacular. To get there you go North 3 miles on Keufler from Beacon Rock ranger station. There's parking for 5 or 6 cars there. You head up an old logging road and then do a bit of off trail to the summit. It takes about an hour. You can also hike the regular trail which has directions hiking book Afoot and Afield by Doug McClain
