Comments | This park is close to Morro Bay, CA. If you get a chance to visit it, you will drive through the park all the way to the end where you will encounter the Point Buchon Trail, which is owned by PG&E. You need permission to enter. It is a couple of miles to walk it but well worth it. We saw Indian paintbrush, morning glories, gold fields, California poppies, loco weed (which we had never seen before), wild sweet peas and lupines. We also encountered a blue heron hunting. Beautiful bird out in the field of sweet peas. Also, there were red-winged black birds with beautiful song. We walked down a trail to the beach in which you had to cross coon creek over stones to get to the beach. Absolutely gorgeous. Then, the trail keeper told us whales were breeching so we walked up the trail and out aways. Unfortunately, we did not see any that day. Overall, this is a very easy trail to take and so well worth it. It is a California trail though. Enjoy!!!! |
