CommentsNow is definitely the time to visit this beautiful place! The primary wildflowers now blooming are: Northwest Balsamroot (Balsamorhiza deltoidea), Columbia Gorge Lupine (Lupinus latifolius), Bicolored Cluster Lily (Brodiaea howellii), some huge patches of Bigroot (Marah oreganus), and Common Monkeyflower (Mimulus guttatus) in moist areas.

Others in bloom include: Rigid Fiddleneck (Amsinckia retrorsa), Pungent Desert Parsley (Lomatium grayi), Small-Flowered Prairie Star (Lithophragma parviflorum), Slender Popcorn Flower (Plagiobothrys tenellus), some Western Buttercup (Ranunculus occidentalis) near the second vernal pond, Small-flowered Blue-eyed Mary (Collinsia parviflora), and some False Agoseris (Nothocalais troximoides) near the trail terminus.
