Grass widows <I>(Sisyrinchium douglasii)</I> are slightly past peak, but still very nice and the predominant flower. Also blooming are Salt-and-pepper <I>(Lomatium piperi)</I>, Western Saxifrage <I>(Saxifraga occidentalis)</I>, Columbia Desert Parsley <I>(Lomatium columbianum)</I>, Pungent Desert Parsley <I>(Lomatium grayi)</I>, Western Buttercup <I>(Ranunculus occidentalis</I> var. <I>occidentalis)</I>, Gold Stars <I>(Crocidium multicaule)</I>, Small-flowered Prairie Star <I>(Lithophragma parviflorum)</I>. Saw many Upland Larkspur <I>(Delphinium nuttallianum)</I> leaves along the NW trail leading down to the creek, but no blooms yet. Also saw the first Northwest Balsamroot <I>(Balsamorhiza deltoidea)</I> in bloom along the old highway.
