Now blooming: Northwest Balsamroot <I>(Balsamorhiza deltoidea)</I>, Columbia Gorge Broad-leaf Lupine <I>(Lupinus latifolius </I>var. <I>thompsonianus)</I>, Upland Larkspur <I>(Delphinium nuttallianum)</I>, Bicolored Cluster Lily <I>(Triteleia grandiflora ssp. howellii)</I>, Western Buttercup <I>(Ranunculus occidentalis </I>var. <I>occidentalis</I>), Harsh Paintbrush <I>(Castilleja hispida)</I>, Serviceberry <I>(Amelanchier alnifolia)</I>, Small-flowered Prairie Star <I>(Lithophragma parviflora)</I>, Bare-stem Desert Parsley <I>(Lomatium nudicaule)</I>, and Rigid Fiddleneck <I>(Amsinckia retrorsa)</I>. <P> Unfortunately, this appears to be a less-than-stellar year for the balsamroot... there is significantly less than in previous years.
