Although the meadow wildflowers were slightly past peak <I>(and probably confused by the snow pack)</I>, there were still PLENTY of flowers to see! <P> <B>Blooming in the forest</B>: Wood Strawberry <I>(Fragaria vesca)</I>, Vanilla Leaf <I>(Achlys triphylla)</I>, Columbia Windflower <I>(Anemone deltoidea)</I>, Star-Flowered Solomon's-Seal <I>(Maianthemum stellatum)</I>, False Solomon's-Seal <I>(Maianthemum racemosa)</I>, Bunchberry <I>(Cornus unalaschkensis)</I>, Youth-On-Age <I>(Tolmiea mensziesii)</I>, Queen's Cup <I>(Clintonia uniflora)</I>, Wood Violet <I>(Viola glabella)</I>, Candyflower <I>(Claytonia sibirica)</I>, Spotted Coral Root <I>(Corallorhiza maculata)</I>, Striped Coral Root <I>(Corallorhiza striata)</I>, Pacific Bleeding Heart <I>(Dicentra formosa)</I>, Red Columbine <I>(Aquilegia formosa)</I>, Foamflower <I>(Tiarella cordifolia)</I>, Tall Bluebell <I>(Mertensia paniculata)</I>, Sitka Valerian <I>(Valeriana sitchensis)</I>, Great Polemonium <I>(Polemonium carneum)</I>, Cliff Larkspur <I>(Delphinium menziesii)</I>, Drummond's Cinquefoil <I>(Potentilla drummondii)</I>, and Musk Monkeyflower <I>(Mimulus moschatus)</I>. <P><B>Blooming in the first small meadow</B>: <B>lots</B> of Cat's Ear <I>(Calochortus subalpinus)</I>, Cardwell's Penstemon <I>(Penstemon cardwellii)</I>, Cream Stonecrop <I>(Sedum oregonense)</I>, Harsh Paintbrush <I>(Castilleja hispida)</I>, Oregon Sunshine <I>(Eriophyllum lanatum)</I>, and Small-Flowered Penstemon <I>(Penstemon procerus)</I>. <P> <B>Blooming in the second small meadow</B>: lots more Cat's Ear, Harsh Paintbrush, as well as Arrow-Leaf Groundsel <I>(Senecio triangularis)</I>, Scarlet Gilia <I>(Ipomopsis aggregata)</I>, Spreading Phlox <I>(Phlox diffusa)</I>, and some Spring Gold <I>(Lomatium utriculatum)</I>. <P> <B>Blooming in the big meadows</B>: lots more Cat's Ear and Harsh Paintbrush, along with Scalloped Onion <I>(Allium crenulatum)</I>, Sulphur Flower Buckwheat <I>(Eriogonum umbellatum </I>var. <I>umbellatum)</I>, Yarrow <I>(Achillea millefolium)</I>, Spotted Saxifrage <I>(Saxifraga bronchialis)</I>, Spreading Stonecrop <I>(Sedum divergens)</I>, Littleleaf Montia <I>(Montia parvifolia)</I>, Shasta Clover <I>(Trifolium productum)</I>, Hot Rock Penstemon <I>(Penstemon deustus)</I>, Gordon's Ivesia <I>(Ivesia gordonii)</I>, and Broadleaf Lupine (<I>Lupinus latifolius</I>).
