Now is the best time to view the balsamroot in the summit meadows. Some of it is slightly past peak, but there is still an impressive display.

In addition to the flowers listed in that report, there is a very nice display of Fork-Toothed Ookow <I>(Dichelostemma congestum)</I> and Farewell-to-Spring <I>(Clarkia amoena)</I> along the switchbacks before the first trail junction. Lots of poison oak, especially along the switchbacks... stay on the trail or take a Tecnu bath after your hike!
