Now is the best time to view the balsamroot in the summit meadows. Some of it is slightly past peak, but there is still an impressive display. <P> Please refer to my <a href="http://oregonwildflowers.org/viewreport.php?ID=459">June 4th</a> report for more specifics. In addition to the flowers listed in that report, there is a very nice display of Fork-Toothed Ookow <I>(Dichelostemma congestum)</I> and Farewell-to-Spring <I>(Clarkia amoena)</I> along the switchbacks before the first trail junction. Lots of poison oak, especially along the switchbacks... stay on the trail or take a Tecnu bath after your hike!
