Prime-time for Grass Widows <I>(Olsynium douglasii)</I> as far as the eye can see on both sides of the highway! <P> Also in bloom: Spring Whitlow-grass <I>(Draba verna)</I>, Salt & Pepper <I>(Lomatium piperi)</I>, and Western Saxifrage <I>(Saxifraga occidentalis)</I>. Pungent Desert Parsley <I>(Lomatium grayi)</I> starting to bloom along paved loop. One sighting of Western Buttercup <I>(Ranunculus occidentalis</I> var. <I>occidentalis)</I> starting to bloom next to the trail near the waterfall overlook. <P> With the exception of the grass widows, there is not yet much to see on the trail leading north toward the old corral. However, there were a number of Gold Stars <I>(Crocidium multicaule)</I> in bloom on the cliffs below the arch. <P> Lots of Pungent Desert Parsley <I>(Lomatium grayi)</I> and Columbia Desert Parsley <I>(Lomatium columbianum)</I> starting to bloom on the hillsides along the road between Highway 14 and Catherine Creek parking area.
