Adam Schneider reports that the balsamroot in the woods is just getting started, but it is at its peak on the south side of Chatfield Hill (which is the southernmost of the Memaloose Hills). Very few paintbrush are visible yet, and the lupines are still budding. A few grass-widows are still holding on, and there are still a lot of glacier lilies on the wooded slopes. The blue-eyed Mary (Collinsia sp.) is blooming profusely everywhere, both on the hills and at lower elevations.
