The bloom is behind schedule due to the snow, patches of which still remain. (It is fairly deep on the old road at higher elevations.)

The primary varieties are: grass widows (Olsynium douglasii) — some are open, with thousands more likely in the next several weeks; salt and pepper (Lomatium piperi), which is open everywhere.

Also spotted were several early signs of: Pungent Desert Parsley (Lomatium grayii), Columbia desert parsley (Lomatium columbianum), and Gold star (Crocidium multicaule) at higher elevations; and Smooth prairie star (Lithophragma glabrum).
