Comments(NOTE: This report is for the Tracy Hill Loop, which includes areas east of Catherine Creek. Conditions are historically similar on the west side of Catherine Creek.)

The predominate flower is Grass Widow (Sisyrinchium douglasii), which blankets the meadows with more on the way. Tiny Salt-and-pepper (Lomatium piperi) is also blooming profusely, and Northwestern Saxifrage (Saxifraga integrifolia v. integrifolia) is opening everywhere. Gold Stars (Crocidium multicaule) are blooming on rocky areas, though past peak at lower elevations. Yellow Bells (Fritillaria pudica) are blooming, often intermittently but sometimes profusely. Also blooming are Pungent Desert Parsley (Lomatium grayi) (especially roadside) and Columbia Desert Parsley (Lomatium columbianum). Prairie Stars (Lithophragma sp.) are starting to open up. Western Saxifrage (Saxifraga occidentalis) is starting to bloom in moist areas. Patches of Western Buttercup (Ranunculus occidentalis var. occidentalis) are blooming under some of the oak trees, along with intermittent Oaks Toothwort (Cardamine nuttallii).
