CommentsTrail of Ten Falls: Lots more in bloom after last report (04/17/2008) despite cold spell (some snow on about 04/19/2008). Stream violet (Viola glabella), western trillium (Trillium ovatum), salmonberry (Rubus spectabilis), Oregon fawn lily (Erythronium oreganum), evergreen violet (Viola sempervirens), Scouler’s corydalis (Corydalis scouleri), large-flowered blue-eyed mary (Collinsia grandiflora), Sitka mistmaiden (Romanzoffia sitchensis), chickweed monkeyflower (Mimulus alsinoides), heartleaf twayblade (Listera cordata) are in bloom with redwood sorrel (Oxalis oregana) & Pacific bleeding heart (Dicentra formosa) not far behind. Some redwool saxifrage (Saxifraga aequidentata) & Hall’s lomatium (Lomatium hallii) in bloom. Indian-plum (Oemleria cerasiformis) just about done flowering. Slender toothwort (Cardamine nuttallii), skunk cabbage (Lysichiton americanus), & spring queen (Synthyris reniformis) not far behind. Areas that are higher in elevation & shaded (i.e. Upper North Falls) are beginning to bloom.
