Comments | Along the loop trail that leads from Old Highway 8, past the corral, and up onto and down the bluff above the rock arch, saw: vast fields of death camas (some with unusually large flower heads), one small sprig of Dutchman's Breeches, lush patches of blooming miner's lettuce, abundant chocolate lilies on the slope east of the corral, lot's of young poison oak just throwing out leaves, small groups of prairie stars, a ledge covered in balsamroot at peak bloom, yellow desert parsley, abundant fields and patches of common (blue) camas, abundant patches of shooting stars, and numerous instances other many other wildflowers. One of the nicest displays of wildflowers at Catherine Creek I've seen in the past few years. < |
