<A href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/cheryl_hill/2309677539/" target="_blank">Grass widows</a> <I>(Sisyrinchium douglasii)</I> are at their peak <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/cheryl_hill/2309652267/" target="_blank">everywhere</a>! Also blooming are Salt-and-pepper <I>(Lomatium piperi)</I> and Western Saxifrage <I>(Saxifraga occidentalis)</I>. Pungent Desert Parsley <I>(Lomatium grayi)</I> and Columbia Desert Parsley <I>(Lomatium columbianum)</I> are starting to bloom. There was one patch of Western Buttercup <I>(Ranunculus occidentalis</I> var. <I>occidentalis)</I> along the lower paved loop, as well as at higher elevations along the northwest trail. Also blooming at higher elevations on the northwest trail are Gold Stars <I>(Crocidium multicaule)</I>, Small-flowered Blue-eyed Mary <I>(Collinsia parviflora)</I>, and Small-flowered Prairie Star <I>(Lithophragma parviflorum)</I>.
