CommentsGrass widows (Sisyrinchium douglasii) are slightly past peak, but still very nice and the predominant flower. Also blooming are Salt-and-pepper (Lomatium piperi), Western Saxifrage (Saxifraga occidentalis), Columbia Desert Parsley (Lomatium columbianum), Pungent Desert Parsley (Lomatium grayi), Western Buttercup (Ranunculus occidentalis var. occidentalis), Gold Stars (Crocidium multicaule), Small-flowered Prairie Star (Lithophragma parviflorum). Saw many Upland Larkspur (Delphinium nuttallianum) leaves along the NW trail leading down to the creek, but no blooms yet. Also saw the first Northwest Balsamroot (Balsamorhiza deltoidea) in bloom along the old highway.
